Somfy Shades Gateway

The Delta Controls Somfy™ Shades Gateway integrates certain Somfy motorized window covering products with the Delta Controls building automation system.The integrated solution consists of a Delta controller with Somfy Shades Gateway firmware that supports the SDN (Somfy Digital Network) protocol, and an RS-485 network that connects to a Somfy product with the Sonesse ST30 RS-485 24V-DC roll up motor.The Somfy Shades Gateway product itself is the gateway firmware that you install on a Delta controller. The gateway firmware is available from Delta Controls at no charge.

Intended Application
The Delta Controls Somfy Shades Gateway is intended to allow the integration of shade control as a component of a building automation system control strategy to reduce heat and cool loads.In addition to reducing energy consumption, shades provide an extra level of security during unoccupied hours.The exterior façade is a large part of a building’s appearance. With integrated Somfy shades the intended design look can be maintained by setting all shades to a common position.

Installation Guidelines
Qualified Delta Controllers
The Delta Controls Somfy Shades Gateway firmware is supported on the following controllers: eBCON, eBMGR, DSC or DAC-E .warning Delta controllers with 4Mbit of memory don’t support the Somfy Shades Gateway. See KBA 1579 for details about controller hardware versions and memory capacity.

Installing Somfy Shades and SDN RS-485 Network
The installation of the Somfy shades and the SDN RS-485 network in the building are outside the scope of this documentation and of Delta’s Somfy Shades Gateway. These tasks are typically done by a qualified Somfy professional.
